Martin Schongauer, “Griffin”
This is an new edit of the original print from the Xeuxis Studio. The lines making the Griffin were Simply placed on a clean, even background. The recognisable Schongauer ‘logo’ (M + S) has of course also been preserved. The adaptation lends the fantastic motif a new contemporary relevance. Make New from Old!
Martin Schongauer (1445/1450-1491) is considered the greatest engraver before Albrecht Dürer and is also the first identifiable producer of fine prints. Not much is knows about Schongauer’s life. His engravings were even admired by Albrecht Dürer and he left behind some unforgettable motifs.
The matt Hahnemühle paper is a particularly elegant choice for editions of old engravings.
