“Griffin”
The griffin is a mythical hybrid creature that typically combines the characteristics of a lion and a bird of prey. Symbolically, the griffin stands for strength and vigilance, which is why it is often used as a traditional heraldic animal. Griffin sculptures also often adorn buildings of cultural institutions, such as Karl Friedrich Schinkel’s Altes Museum or the Konzerthaus in Berlin.
Here, the MC23 team has created this simple yet captivatingly lush image by reworking an old wood engraving.
