Pink pills that make you happy?? Hmmm …. At the time, these pink pills were apparently considered a ‘miracle cure’ for numerous imaginable illnesses. Why it should only be beneficial for light-skinned individuals, and above all, what exactly was in them, remains unknown…
But regarding the graphics and from the perspective of 120 years later, this advertisement by the wonderful illustrator Leonetto Cappiello from 1910 is certainly a delight!
Leonetto Cappiello (1875 bis 1942) was an illustrator, poster artist, and caricaturist, originally from Italy and primarily active in Paris. He is known for his designs of advertising posters and advertisements from the early days of industrial consumer culture.
