This is the adaptation of a copperplate engraving by Paulus Pontius, who originally created the engraving based on a drawing by Peter Paul Rubens. Pontius (1603-1658) was a Flemish engraver and painter, and one of the leading engravers associated with the workshop of Peter Paul Rubens.
