This is the adaptation of a copperplate engraving by Paulus Pontius, who originally created the engraving based on a drawing by Peter Paul Rubens. The image was retouched, the background and the lines cleaned and then colored in a rich cobalt blue at the Xeuxis Studio. Hence – an adatation in third generation. Pontius (1603-1658) was a Flemish engraver and painter, and one of the leading engravers associated with the workshop of Peter Paul Rubens.
