Abrecht Dürer’s Männerbad is a masterly woodcut created around 1496/1497. The picture shows four men in a bath house listening to two musicians, while a youth observes the scene from outside. At first glance, one might assume that Dürer is depicting the male nude in changing poses, but the supposed study testifies to visualized humour and male homoeroticism.
The ink drawing Frauenbad is generally regarded as a pedant piece to the Männerbad.
