About Xeuxis Prints<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Poster? Print? Art Print? Gicl\u00e9e-Print? What do these terms actually mean?<\/h1>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Basically, these classifications are not always clearly defined. The term ‘poster’ is typically used for prints reproduced by offset printing. To be cost-effective, offset prints are normally produced in large runs.<\/p>\n\n

At Xeuxis, however, all prints are made to order. This is done using high-resolution ink printing processes from high-resolution files. In this context, there is no longer a difference between a ‘print’ and an ‘art print’. The term ‘gicl\u00e9e print’, stands for high-resolution inkjet prints. Here, the artworks are reproduced with great precision and attention to detail.<\/p>\n\n

As a photographer and established, practicing artist, the founder of Xeuxis, Klaus Wehner, has many years of experience in printing and presenting a wide variety of images and graphic works. But what actually makes a high-quality ‘wall jewel’? Apart from the carefully optimised print file, high-resolution print quality is of course of the utmost importance. But the look and feel of the printed object also play a decisive role.<\/p>\n\n

Xeuxis resolves this question by offering different types of printing that not only focus on the quality of the print files, but also on the appearance and tactile experience of the print itself.<\/p>\n\n

A paper weight of 207 g\/m2 with a silk matt surface is used for these gicl\u00e9e prints. The paper is printed by a high-resolution inkjet printer using pigment-based inks. The finished print is of archival, ‘museum’ quality and is guaranteed to be UV-resistant for 75 years. <\/p>\n\n

Hahnem\u00fchle Photo Rag<\/h2>\n\n

These Gicl\u00e9e prints are made by a high resolution inkjet printer. The Paper used is the wonderful ‘Hahenm\u00fchle Photo Rag\u00a9<\/sup> matt – Cotton 308 g\/m2′. The matt surface combined with the heavy paper quality make these prints truly luxurious objects – and heirlooms. Hahnem\u00fchle Paper ist of course of archival museum quality. It is popular with artists and photographers and is therefore a favourite for printing graphics and illustrations as well as photographs. <\/p>\n\n

Acrylic Glass Prints<\/h2>\n\n

Acrylic glass prints are printed directly onto a coating at the back of the glass using a high-resolution printer. All our glass prints are supplied with an aluminium rail hanging system that remains invisible behind the print when hanging. The result is a seemingly floating sheet of glass on the wall. The glass thickness of 3 mm is a top option for all sizes. The glass thickness of 8mm has deeper, diamond-cut edges and results in a more substantial object, emphasising the appearance of a thick pane of glass. <\/p>\n\n

Prints on Canvas<\/h2>\n\n

Canvas prints are currently only offered for custom orders. If you see a motif that you would like to order on canvas, please contact us<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n

Art prints on canvas are printed directly by a high-resolution inkjet printer. The luminosity of the colours here is slightly reduced compared to our other prints. The surface structure of the woven cotton remains visible. Prints on canvas can be trimmed smooth like a sheet of paper ready to be framed, or stretched on a stretcher frame. Stretched canvas prints use a classic 4cm thick wooden stretcher frame and can therefore be hung without a frame.<\/p>\n\n
